973-378-7754 ext. 2228 For Immediate Release DREAMCATCHER PRESENTS DREAMCATCHER REPERTORY THEATRE, professional Theatre in Residence at the Baird Center in South Orange, will present the New Jersey premiere of the revised edition of PARALLEL LIVES: THE KATHY & MO SHOW by Mo Gaffney and Kathy Najimy from March 5 through 21. This playfully satirical series of sketches achieved cult status in its long Off-Broadway run, and was updated in 2006 for a triumphant revival. Traditionally performed by two women, Dreamcatcher’s production will feature four women who will lead the voyage from adolescence to midlife crisis to the golden years, skewering sexual stereotypes and contemporary identities with wit and wisdom. PARALLEL LIVES was among Dreamcatcher’s first productions thirteen years ago, and it was an enormous favorite with the audience. Because it was recently updated and revived in New York, the time seemed right to revisit the hilarious and relevant piece. “A romp with a feminist sensibility; it’s humor for a post-Lily Tomlin generation,” wrote Variety’s critic during its New York run. “Above all, PARALLEL LIVES is a smart, provocative show.”
PARALLEL LIVES: THE KATHY AND MO SHOW will run at Dreamcatcher from Friday, March 5 through Sunday, March 21. Performances are Friday and Saturday nights at 8:00 p.m., and Sundays at 2:00 p.m. Tickets are $27 general admission, $22 for seniors, and $17 for students, with special rates for subscribers and groups. For the New Jersey Theatre Alliance’s Family Week at the Theatre/Stages Festival, audience members paying full price may buy one student ticket at half price on Sunday, March 7.
